American Legion Baseball in Wyoming rolls into Week 10 of the 2024 season. Tournament play shifts into high gear this week. Teams are playing in seven tournaments around the region. Two of the tournaments are in Laramie and Torrington. The others are in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Utah. Those tournaments will involve 16 of the 25 teams at the top two levels of Wyoming Legion Baseball. A smattering of conference games is also part of this week’s slate.

MONDAY, JUNE 3:

Final Score: Utah Yaks 14 Evanston Outlaws 0 - the Yaks scored 7 in the 2nd and added 5 runs in the 3rd.

Final Score: Utah Yaks 6 Evanston Outlaws 1 - Utah took an early 3-0 lead and added 3 more in the 4th.

Final Score: Cody Cubs 14 Riverton Raiders 4 (conference game) - the Cubs exploded for 8 runs in the 3rd. Jarrett & Carlson had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Cody Cubs 17 Riverton Raiders 6 (conference game) - a 10-run 2nd for Cody led to another short victory. Schroeder & Phillips each had 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 3 Gillette Riders 2 - the Oilers scored 3 times in the 1st and held off Gillette, who scored 2 in the 7th. Christensen had 2 hits (3B) & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Casper Oilers 9 Gillette Riders 5 - the Oilers led 8-0 before the Riders tried to rally. Whitely and Hauck had 2 hits & 2 RBIs apiece. Whitley homered. Hauck had a double & a triple.

Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 13 Belle Fourche (SD) Broncs 6 - the Rustlers scored in all 6 innings. Smith had 3 hits & 5 RBIs.

Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 12 Belle Fourche (SD) Broncs 8 - the Rustlers get the road sweep after an early 7-0 lead. Wood had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Gillette.

Green River Knights at Jackson Giants – rained out; rescheduled date is TBD

TUESDAY, JUNE 4:

Final Score: Billings Royals 10 Gillette Riders 4 - the Royals scored 3 runs in the 3rd & 4 in the 4th to build an early 7-0 lead.

Final Score: Billings Scarlets 11 Gillette Riders 3 - the Scarlets scored 6 runs in the 1st.

Final Score: Cheyenne Eagles 9 Gillette Rustlers 6 (conference game) - the Eagles scored 9 runs in the 2nd & 3rd innings and held off the Rustlers. Gorman had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for Cheyenne.

Final Score: Cheyenne Eagles 7 Gillette Rustlers 6 (conference game) - the Eagles win with 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th on a walk-off 1B by Green. Vines' RBI double tied it up. Green had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 5 Cheyenne Sixers 3 (conference game) - the Troopers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st and held off Cheyenne. Barney got the win on the mound by allowing 3 runs on 5 hits with 7 Ks and added 2 hits & 1 RBI at the plate.

Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 8 Cheyenne Sixers 3 (conference game) - the Troopers erased a 2-0 Cheyenne lead in the 1st with 5 runs of their own. Dyson had 2 hits & 3 RBIs for Sheridan in the sweep. Maestri allowed only 1 run on 3 hits in 6.1 IP.

Final Score: Torrington Tigers 12 Bridgeport (NE) Bombers 3 - the Tigers scored 10 runs in the 1st inning. Desmond had 1 hit & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Torrington Tigers 9 Bridgeport Bombers 2 - a 6-run 2nd gave the Tigers the lead for good. Kramer had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: Cody Cubs 11 Lovell Mustangs 8 (conference game) - a 4-run 6th pushed the Cubs to the game one victory. Duke had 3 hits & 3 RBIs. D. Phillips added a 3-run inside the park HR.

Final Score: Lovell Mustangs 12 Cody Cubs 6 (conference game) - the Mustangs jumped out 4-0 in the 2nd and kept pulling away. Wassmer had 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Rodriguez added 2 hits & 3 RBIs in the road split.

Final Score: Douglas Cats 12 Wheatland Lobos 2 - a 7-run 5th capped the Cats' win. Robertson had 3 hits & 2 RBIs, and Kejr added 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Douglas Cats 12 Wheatland Lobos 2 - the Cats scored 4 runs in the 1st to take the lead and scored in each inning. Kejr had 3 hits & drove in 4 runs. Holler added 3 hits (2-3B) & 3 RBIs.

Buffalo Bulls at Miles City (MT) Mavericks - postponed to June 27

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5:

Final Score: Buffalo Bulls 12 Powell Pioneers B 8 (10 inns.) - the Bulls rallied with 4 in the 7th and then won it with 5 runs in the 10th. Jawors had 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Powell Pioneers B 14 Buffalo Bulls 10 - the Powell B team scored 4 in the 2nd and 8 in the 5th and held off a Buffalo rally. Peters had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for the Bison in the loss.

Final Score: Lockwood (MT) Razorbacks 12 Rawlins Bandits 8 - Lockwood jumped out 8-3 and held off the Bandits. Taffner & Murry each had 1 hit & 2 RBIs.
