Lusk Tiger senior Cory Bruegger is one of the most recent prep basketball players in Wyoming to pass 1,000 points in his career. He accomplished the feat last Friday in the Tigers’ upset of No. 1 Lingle-Ft. Laramie, 82-67. Bruegger scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out six assists. He shot 7-10 from the field and was 5-5 at the free-throw line. With the victory, Lusk improved to 13-4 on the season and 3-1 in the 2A Southeast Quadrant.

During his senior season, Cory is averaging 14.5 points per game and shooting 46 percent from the floor. He’s also contributing 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. All those marks rank Bruegger in the top ten of the 2A East Region.

Bruegger is a two-time all-conference selection in basketball by the coaches in Class 2A.

In the 2022-23 season, as a junior, Bruegger averaged 14.8 points, 3.3 assists, and 3.8 steals per game.

As a sophomore in the 2021-22 season, Cory scored 16 points, grabbed 6.8 rebounds, and had 2.8 steals per game. During the 2020-21 season, as a freshman, Bruegger played in all 19 games for Lusk and averaged 3.2 points per game.

Cory joined his older brother, Ryan, who accomplished the feat in 2021.

Bruegger also plays golf for the Tigers.
