Wheatland sophomore sensation Lily Anderson surpassed the 1,000-point mark late in the 2024-25 regular season. Anderson reached the plateau with a basket at home against Rawlins. It was part of a breakout sophomore season, which saw Anderson score the second-most points in a single season in state history. Anderson is a two-time all-state and all-conference selection for the Bulldogs.

She led Wheatland to a 21-10 record and an appearance at the 3A state tournament, where the Bulldogs fell in the consolation trophy game. Anderson averaged 24.5 points per game and shot 45 percent from the field. Lily finished with 758 points during the 2024-25 season, which passed the previous single-season state record of 713 but still left her second behind Lauren Olsen of Douglas. Anderson added team-highs of 2.3 assists and 3.6 steals per game. She made 198 two-point field goals, 63 threes, and 173 free throws. Her 38 points versus Gering, NE, on Jan. 16, 2025, were the fourth-most by a girls’ player in the state this season.

As a freshman in the 2023-24 season, Anderson averaged 16 points per game and shot 41 percent from the floor. She scored 447 points across 28 games. Lily helped Wheatland to a 17-11 overall record and an appearance at the 3A state tournament.
