Torrington senior Jaycee Hurley will play basketball in college after inking with Dickinson State in North Dakota. Hurley has been a three-sport star for the Blazers. She was a four-year letter-winner and three-year starter in basketball. Hurley earned all-conference honors twice, including during the 2024-25 season. She helped Torrington to a 15-10 overall record. They were 9-1 in the 3A East Conference, finished second in the conference, and second at the 3A East Regional Tournament, and went 1-2 at the 3A basketball state tournament.

Hurley averaged a team-best 3.1 assists per game and led the Blazers in assists 14 times in their 25 games this past season. She added 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. Hurley shot 41 percent from the floor and 59 percent at the free-throw line. She had career highs of seven assists and six steals in a game against Burns on Feb. 2, 2025.

As a junior in 2023-24, Hurley averaged 6.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. She added 1.8 assists and 1.7 steals per contest. The Blazers finished that season 14-12. They were second in the 3A Southeast Conference at 4-2, took third at regionals, and won the consolation trophy at the 3A basketball state tournament. Her sophomore season (2022-23) was cut limited to nine games. Hurley averaged nine points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3.6 steals per game. She scored a career-high 17 points in a game versus Arvada, CO, on Dec. 9, 2022.

Hurley also played volleyball and ran track at THS. She was a Class 3A all-state selection in volleyball last fall and passed 1,000 digs in her career. Hurley earned all-state in track last spring and has been a two-time state qualifier.

Dickinson State University is in Dickinson, ND. The Blue Hawks compete in NAIA in college sports and are members of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) conference.
