
Jordan Mendez of Evanston Will Further His Basketball Career
Evanston’s Jordan Mendez has signed with the Central Wyoming College men’s basketball program. Mendez was a three-year starter and letter-winner at EHS. He received all-conference honors in the 4A West during the 2025 season. Jordan helped the Red Devils reach the 4A basketball state tournament each of the last two years in his prep career.
Mendez averaged 11.6 points and shot 47 percent from the field in the 2024-25 season. As a senior, he led an Evanston offense that led Class 4A in field goal shooting at 46.9 percent. Mendez led the Red Devils and was top five in the 4A West at three assists and 1.7 steals per game. He also shot 69 percent from the free-throw line. Evanston finished last season at 15-12. The Red Devils were second in the 4A Southwest Conference, third at the 4A West Regional Tournament, and went 1-2 at the state tournament, where they lost to Natrona County in the consolation game.
As a junior in 2023-24, Mendez averaged 5.1 points and led EHS with 1.8 assists per game. He helped Evanston to a 13-15 overall record and a berth in the state tournament. Jordan averaged 6.8 points and a team-best 2.2 assists per game as a sophomore in the 2022-23 season.

Mendez also played soccer for the Red Devils over the last four years. He led Evanston with seven goals in the 2025 season.
Central Wyoming College is in Riverton. The Rustlers compete in Region IX of the NJCAA. They went 10-20 in the 2024-25 season.
