One of the best games in the quarterfinal round of the football playoffs regardless of class was the Big Horn-Mountain View showdown on Friday in Big Horn. Mountain View opened the scoring with a 30-yard run for a touchdown from Braden Walker to put the Buffs up 7-0. Big Horn came right back with a 14-yard scamper to the end zone from Cooper Garber but Walker reeled off a 56-yard run for a score so Mountain View led 14-7 after one quarter of play.

Mountain View upped the lead to 20-7 thanks to a 3-run TD run from Carson Eardley but the Rams answered again as Garber threw a 3-yard Td pass to Dawson Richards so Big Horn trailed at the half 20-14.

The teams exchanged touchdowns in the 3rd quarter with Walker turning in his 3rd rushing touchdown of the game so the Buffaloes led 26-14. Once again, Big Horn answered the bell as Garber tossed a 17-yard TD pass to Gavin Stafford that cut the gap to 26-21.

In the 4th quarter, Garber found Greenough-Groom for a touchdown that covered 15 yards so the Rams finally took the lead at 28-26. The Big Horn defense sealed the game thanks to a Drew Heermann interception.

Big Horn moves to 8-1 on the year and has qualified for the playoffs every year since 1999. They will host Lyman at noon on Friday in one of the 2A semi-finals. Mountain View wrapped up the season at 5-4 and made substantial progress this season after going 1-7 a year ago. The Buffs have made the postseason in 10 of the last 11 years.
