Braxton Cordova of Green River Repeats as 3A Diving State Champ

The divers from the 3A schools competed for that coveted state championship on Friday in Gillette with Green River's Braxton Cordova prevailing again. In 2021, Cordova won the state title with 421.20 points, and this year, he took home the hardware with a score of 447.40. The Wolves have been strong in the diving event with Kyle Kight taking 2nd this season and River Kirts taking 3rd, In 2021, the Wolves went 1-2-4 at the state meet in this event.

Cordova is a solid all-around athlete as he made the semi-finals in the #1 singles event at the State Tennis Tournament. He also plays on the Green River soccer team. We had a chance to chat with Cordova right after repeating as the state champ. It's been a good season.
