The Burns girls' basketball team was making their first appearance at the State Tournament in 7 years and surprised a few folks by winning 3 straight and taking home the championship Trophy. The Broncs won their first state title in girls basketball with a 48-36 win over Lingle-Fort Laramie on Saturday in Casper and took the game over in the 4th quarter. Burns outscored LFL by 13 in the final stanza and went 18-28 from the free-throw line.

Daljit Kaur had a sensational game for the Broncs with 15 points and 16 rebounds while Savannah Kirkbride threw in 13 points and 7 boards. This was an amazing achievement for this group and it was a long time coming.

We had a chance to chat with Kirkbride, Kaur, and guard Jordan Griess about the biggest win in the history of the program. We also have some photos to share with you from Jamie Tippetts in our gallery below. Enjoy!
