The Casper Oilers have endured an up and down season in 2022, but that's not surprising according to manager Kalen Hill.

Casper had a very veteran team in 2021. They lost several players off of that team and entering the 2022 season, coach Hill knew they would face a learning curve.

WyoPreps spoke to coach Hill recently. He touched on the up and down nature of the team, some of the key elements to their success, how the team follows certain players' performance, and what his thoughts are on the AA state tournament.

Casper has been led by veterans Kaeden Wilcox and Grant Nipper. They will be the No. 5 seed at the state tournament. The Oilers will play the host Sheridan Troopers in the first round on Monday.

Casper has an overall record of 26-23-2 this season. They finished conference play at the Double-A level at 6-8.
