The fall golf season got started last week and Wheatland played host to a tournament over the weekend.

For the boys, Cheyenne Central's Ethan Cates was the individual champion as he won by a whopping 11 strokes over Eli Cole of Cheyenne East. Central's Caden Jackson was third. Cates finished 3rd at last year's state tournament. Central also won the team title in that Wheatland with Cheyenne East 2nd and Laramie 3rd.

On the girls' side, Camryn Nagy of Laramie took first place by 4 strokes over Jennifer Gillotti from Cheyenne Central with Michelle Weatherly of Cheyenne East taking 3rd. Nagy placed 14th at last year's state tourney. Cheyenne Central also led the team standings in Wheatland with Douglas 2nd and Cheyenne East 3rd. The state tournaments will be September 20 and 21.

Also, last Thursday and Friday the Kemmerer Invite took place and featured a small field of five Class 2A schools and golfers. Here are the results:
