Cheyenne East is the current leader in a very competitive 4A East Conference in softball and displayed some serious skills with a doubleheader sweep of Cheyenne South on Monday. The Thunderbirds won the first game of the twin-bill 17-3 and won the nightcap 16-0.

So far this season, Trista Stehwein is hitting an astounding .627 with 4 home runs and 28 RBIs. Grace Oswald is hitting .510 with 21 runs scored and 27 runs batted in. Pitcher Jaylen Christensen is 6-1 on the year with 59 strikeouts. Lily Vallejo is 3-1 with 24 K's.

East will host Cheyenne Central in a doubleheader on Wednesday and the T-Birds will enter that twin-bill at 11-4 overall and 8-1 in conference play. Cheyenne South is still looking for their first win of the year after a dozen games this season. The Bison will be at Laramie on Thursday.
