Cheyenne Post 6 made a great run through the American Legion Baseball "AA" Northwest Regional in Gillette but came up one victory short of winning the tournament with a 6-5 loss to Idaho Falls on Sunday. The Sixers forced the if necessary game on Sunday with an 9-4 win over Idaho Falls thanks to two home runs and 4 RBI's from Zach Costopoulos and 3 runs batted in from Mason Tafoya,

In the winner take all game, Idaho Falls jumped out to a 4-0 lead but Cheyenne chipped away by scoring the next 5 runs and held a 5-4 lead until the 7th inning. Idaho Falls homered in that frame to tie the game at 5 and send the contest into extra innings and won it on a walk off single in the bottom of the 9th.

Costopouplos had 3 hits in the game and Colter McAnelly also had 3 hits. The Sixers had a tremendous season with 68 wins and just 12 losses. Idaho Fall is the two-time defending American Legion national champions and will advance to the Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina
