Cheyenne Wins Thriller at Legion World Series
Cheyenne Post 6, making their first appearance in the American Legion World Series, picked up a victory they desperately needed with a 2-1 win over Ellsworth, Maine on Friday afternoon in Shelby, North Carolina. The game was tied at 1 going into the bottom of the 7th and Cheyenne's Colter McAnelly got on base and Julian Romero came through with a double to drive in the game winning run. Romero ended up going 2-3 in the contest with Nolan Horton going 1-3 with an RBI in the 2nd inning.
Sixer pitcher Bradley Feezer was outstanding as he went 7 innings giving up just one run and 2 hits and striking out 7. Cheyenne stayed alive for a shot at the semi-finals with this victory after getting no hit by League City, Texas on Thursday. Each team plays 3 games in pool play and the top two teams in each pool make it to Monday's semi-final round
The Sixers are 1-1 so far and will meet the defending Legion national champions, Troy Alabama tomorrow at 5:30 MDT
