The Cody Cubs have excelled at the Legion Baseball 'A' level for many years with 3 state titles in a row and 7 of the last 9. The Cubs had a solid state tournament but they ran into a couple of buzzsaws at the Legion 'A" Northwest Regional in Vernal, Utah.

On Friday, Cody opened up tournament play with an 8-2 loss to Rupert, Idaho and managed just 5 hits in the game. Jack Schroeder had a 2 run homer in the game but it was a struggle on the mound as he allowed 8 runs in 6 and third innings of work. Rupert pounded out 15 hits and scored in every inning with the exception of the 5th.

On Saturday in a loser-out game, the Cubs were defeated by Millville, Utah 8-5. Cody scored 3 times in the top of the 2nd only to watch Millville score 3 times in the bottom of the frame. Millville scored twice in the 3rd and twice in the 4th and Cody could never recover. Pitching wise, Trey Schroeder lasted 3 and a third innings, giving up 7 runs and 9 hits. At the plate, Jack Schroeder drove in 2 runs and Ben Reinker went 2-4.

Cody finished the year 35-21-1 and they should be a very good team in 2023 with everybody returning from this year's squad.
