Cody Phelps will go down as one of the finest wrestlers the State of Wyoming has ever produced.  Phelps will be joining the Western Wyoming wrestling program in Rock Springs and will bring some very impressive credentials. Phelps is one of 26 guys to win four state championships in his prep career in Wyoming and did not lose a match in either his junior or senior seasons. His overall record at Pinedale was an astounding 194-5

At the 2022 state championships, Phelps won the 3A, 138-pound title with an 18-2 win over Winston Green of Star Valley. He was on the mat 54 times in his senior year and won them all. Phelps was 42-0 in junior year and won the 3A, 138-pound crown with a pin over Tanner Collins of Mountain View. Phelps beat Winston Green in the 2020 3A 126-pound final 10-2 to finish the year 42-2 and as a freshman, he earned the 3A, 113-pound state championship with a 15-0 win over Domanic Hartley of Worland by fall.

Phelps was also a two-time Ron Thon champion beating Devin Weber of Wheatland in 2022 at 138 and defeating Hunter Goodwin of Sheridan at 126 back in 2020.

He joins a powerful Western Wyoming wrestling program that placed 4th in the nation at the NJCAA championships in 2022 and the Mustangs took 2nd place at nationals in 2021.
