The Douglas Cats are coming off a tough stretch but are hoping they can utilize their home field to propel them on a postseason run.

Douglas just went 1-2 at their Bolln' Wood Bat Tournament they hosted last weekend. That was followed by a pair of losses at Laramie on Tuesday night.

The Cats are a mix of veterans and youth but manager Travis Mortimore believes his squad has what it takes to play their best baseball in the postseason. He talked with WyoPreps about how Douglas is playing, keys for being more consistent and putting together a run, and more.

The Cats are 22-21 on the season. They will have the benefit of hosting the Single-A District Tournament that starts next Monday, July 18, at Nida Field in Douglas. They finish the regular season with a pair of home conference games against the Cheyenne Hawks on Thursday.
