Denali Bergquist of Douglas will continue her soccer career at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, ID this fall.

It’s been a tough couple of years for Bergquist on the pitch. She lost her senior season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that was after missing time due to an injury as a junior in 2019.

Bergquist helped Douglas reach the Class 3A state tournament in her sophomore and junior seasons. In 2019, the Bearcats finished with a 9-6-2 overall record. They were 5-2-1 in conference matches and finished second in the East Region. Douglas was 1-2 at the 2019 state tournament and lost to Lander in the Consolation Championship.

Bergquist was a four-year letter winner at Douglas in soccer. She also lettered twice in cross country and twice in golf. Bergquist placed 19th at the 3A State Golf Championships in Afton last fall and helped the Bearcats finish third as a team.

The North Idaho College Cardinals are part of the Northwest Athletic Conference. The Cardinals are coached by Kellsi Parson.
