Last season, Douglas took 2nd place at the State Tournament and return a host of solid wrestlers for the 2022 season. The Bearcats took 3rd at their own Shane Shatto Tournament over the weekend and had 3 individual champions: Tanner Johnson at 106, Keltan Ewing at 138, and Lane Ewing at 160 pounds. Lane Ewing was a state champion a year ago at 145 pounds with Keltan taking 3rd a year ago at 138.

The team also has Rylan Wehr returning and he took 3rd at state a year ago at 132. At the Shatto Tournament, Wehr took 4th at 145, Kael Matthews placed 4th at 195 and Christian Johnson was in the #5 spot at 138 pounds.

This is a strong group and they're definitely going to give Star Valley a run for their money in 3A this season. We had a chance to talk with Keltan Ewing and Lane Ewing about the Shatto Tournament and the season to date. Enjoy!
