Douglas Looking for New Coaches

KKTY Radio reports that Douglas High School will begin the search for three new coaches.

Girls basketball head coach Jaci Heny, cross country coach Steve Smoot, and head swim coach BJ Harris have each submitted letters of resignation to the Douglas school board. Smoot is the only cross-country coach DHS has ever had.  He started the program 38 years ago.

Jaci Heny has coached the LadyCats basketball team for the past six years.  The girls were 28-1 this season and suffered their one and only loss in the 3A finals.

BJ Harris is stepping down from the High School swim program, he'll continue to coach the Converse County Waves swimmers. Douglas High School activities director Josh Goodrich says all three coaches are leaving on good terms.
