Douglas and Riverton came into Friday's 3A football match-up with something to prove. Douglas lost their 2 previous games to Cody and Powell while Riverton was 3-1 coming into the contest, looking for another statement win.

Douglas put points in the scoreboard first as quarterback Collin Roberts reeled off a 71-yard run for a touchdown and just plain ran away from the Riverton defense, making it 6-0 Bearcats. Cash Tillard, who was all over the field on offense and defense caught a TD ball for Douglas, and with a successful 2-point try, it was 14-0.

Riverton quarterback Blake Gantenbein threw 2 touchdown passes in the 2nd half to Jackson Larsen, the 2nd one was a circus catch after those scores it was a 1 point game at 14-13. Gantenbein threw some nice balls in the game that were not hauled in by Wolverine receivers.

Douglas put the game away late in the 4th quarter on a reverse going to Jarret Jones who took it in for the score. This was on 4th down and goal from the 10-yard line and the final was 20-13. Douglas is 2-2 on the year and will host Lander on Friday. Riverton has a tough game this week on the road at Buffalo.
