Cheyenne East football player Drew Jackson decided to accept an offer from the Wyoming Cowboys as a preferred walk-on, getting a golden opportunity for Division I football. Preferred walk-ons do not have a scholarship but can earn one down the road and will have a spot on the team in fall practices.

Jackson is projected to play in the defensive secondary and was a 4A All-State selection on defense with 57 tackles and a couple of interceptions, plus a defensive touchdown. He also was an All-State pick on offense with 940 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns with 54 catches for 773 yards and 6 TDs.

In his junior, he was All-State on defense with 55.5 tackles and 5 interceptions. To the surprise of no one. Jackson was an All-State selection on offense in 2022 with 1017 yards rushing and 11 scores with 37 catches for 601 yards and 6 touchdowns.

He's also a two-time All-State pick in 4A basketball and is averaging 21 points a game this season.
