One of the finest basketball players in the state is Elyn Bowers of Pinedale and she will be an early commit to Eastern Washington University. Bowers, as a junior was the leading scorer in 3A this past season, averaging 24 points a game, shooting 49% from the floor, 40% from the 3-point line, and 78% from the free throw line. The 5-8 shooting guard can ring up big-time numbers and high scoring-wise, she threw in 41 points vs Thermopolis and rang up 35, 34, and 31 points in three games vs. Mountain View. Pinedale finished last season with a record of 22-4 and took 3rd at the 3A State Tournament.

In her sophomore season, Bowers was the 2nd leading scorer in 3A, throwing in 20 points per game. She shot 44% from the floor, 38% from 3, and a whopping 83% from the free throw line. The Wranglers went 20-7 and took 6th at the 3A State Tournament.

Bowers made a name for herself in her freshman year by averaging 14 points a game shooting 46% from the field, 36% from the land of 3, and 78% from the line. She is currently playing AAU basketball with a squad from Utah. She has become the 1st Division I basketball signee from Pinedale in the last 4 decades.

Eastern Washington won the regular season and post-season tournament in the Big Sky Conference in 2024 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
