Perhaps the Encampment Tigers are on a bit of a mission this season. They took apart Cokeville last Saturday at home, 75-37.

After finishing runner-up last season, the Tigers are off to a perfect start and have been at the top of the WyoPreps.com Coaches and Media Boys Basketball Poll for Class 1A all season.

In their most recent action, junior Dalton Peterson and senior Dayne Anderson led the way with 22 and 21 points, respectively. Encampment improved to 13-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.

WyoPreps’ David Settle spoke to Anderson after the big win. He talked about his big day, the team’s success, expanding his game, an emphasis on defense, and more.

Matt Thomas scored 19 in the loss for the Panthers, who fell to 6-7 on the season and 0-2 in league action. Cokeville was missing senior Luke Schwarting, who was out with an injury.

The rematch will be in Cokeville on Feb. 14.
