The Cokeville Panthers hope to be contenders in Class 2A during the 2026 high school football season in the Cowboy State. With lots of experience and the program's history and tradition, it is realistic to expect Cokeville to be in the mix. WyoPreps made its first stop on the second day of our preseason football tour to see how things are going early in practice.

WYOPREPS PREVIEWS THE 2026 COKEVILLE PANTHERS

Cokeville finished last year with an overall record of 4-5. They lost in the first round of the 2A playoffs at Big Horn. Seven starters return for the Panthers, led by two-time all-state selection and reigning 2A Defensive Player of the Year, Kashton Walker. Another returning all-state player is head coach Marty Linford's son, Flint. Other key players coming back in 2026 include Daxton Pope, Clayton Teichert, Killian Teichert, and Nephi Cook. Cokeville is low on numbers this fall. They have 21 kids on the team.

WyoPreps chatted with Walker, Pope, and Linford about practice, the team, the experience, the tradition, and more. We also caught up with head coach Marty Linford, who enters his fifth season as the leading guy on the Panthers' sideline. He feels they'll be good on defense and improved on offense.
