Behind a strong defensive performance, the No. 2 Farson-Eden Pronghorns defeated the Burlington Huskies, 20-10, last Saturday.

The game was a defensive battle in the first half. The Pronghorns finally got on the board thanks to a TD pass to Klaine Halladay with just over a minute left in the first half.

Farson-Eden overcame some snap issues and loose exchanges, plus they played without two players.

Mathew Smith had a TD run and a TD catch in the second half, as the Pronghorns built a 20-0 lead.

A safety, followed by a TD pass pulled Burlington within 20-10, but that’s all they could manage. The Pronghorns' defense held up to all of the Huskies' challenges. You can watch some of the highlights above.

After the game, WyoPreps talked with Smith and senior Cree Jones about the victory. Smith described his touchdowns; Jones discussed the other filling roles with players out and the senior class; both spoke to the difficulty of the 6-man West Conference; dealing with being the defending champs, and more.

Farson-Eden improved to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the conference. Burlington fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the league.
