Wire-to-Wire Winners: Five Wyoming Football Teams Finish Exactly Where They Started

All five teams that began the year at No. 1 finished in that position in the final WyoPreps Coaches and Media Football Poll. The new rankings were released on Wednesday. It featured two schools that rejoined the top five, and changes in four of the five classes. Little Snake River, Pine Bluffs, Big Horn, Star Valley, and Sheridan went wire-to-wire as the top-ranked teams. Only the Rams were close to being bumped from the top spot. Farson-Eden rejoined the six-man top five after the outcome of Week 8 games. Saratoga’s overtime win over Lingle-Fort Laramie helped the Panthers replace the Doggers at No. 5 in the 9-man poll. The other changes were that teams swapped positions in the rankings.

LAST WYOPREPS COACHES AND MEDIA FOOTBALL POLL OF 2025

In Class 2A, Lovell traded spots with Newcastle. Both teams won their Week 8 game, but the Bulldogs’ overtime win at Cokeville impressed enough voters that Lovell landed in fourth. That meant Newcastle slid down to fifth. The two will square off in the first round of the playoffs. The other trades were in 4A. Campbell County moved back to No. 2 after the Camels rolled to a 45-19 win at Cheyenne East last Friday night. The Thunderbirds fell to third. Natrona County’s victory at Cheyenne Central moved the Mustangs to fourth, while the Indians dropped to fifth.

4 = Hulett

5 = Farson-Eden
