The Gillette Roughriders played host to the AA Northwest regional this year and that gave them an automatic bid to the tournament. The Riders finished 2nd at the Wyoming State Tournament and opened regional play with a 5-1 loss to Billings on Wednesday night. In a loser out game on Thursday, Gillette was eliminated from the tourney after a tough 3-2 loss to Yakima, Washington.

Yakima scored 3 times in the 5th inning to take a 3-0 but the Riders rallied in the 6th inning thanks to a 2 run homer from Cory Schilling but that's as close as they would get. Gillette starting pitcher Leigton Holden worked 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hots with 2 strikeouts and 3 walks. The Riders finish the season at 49-26.
