Gillette Loses to Billings in Round 1 of NW Regionals

The Gillette Riders had a solid regular season and a 2nd place finish at the Wyoming State Tournament in Sheridan last week. They are hosting the Northwest AA Regional this week and in front of a boisterous crowd, the Riders took on the Billings Royals in the opening round on Wednesday night.

Gillette endured a nightmare of inning in the 2nd frame as they made 2 errors on one play and allowed 4 runs to score. That one play with 2 outs by the way was the difference in the game as Billings prevailed 5-1. Pitching wise, Jason Fink went the distance and certainly threw well enough to win.

The Riders find themselves in a loser out game on Thursday afternoon as they'll meet Yakima, Washington. We have a short video to share with you from Wednesday night's game and a few photos as well in our gallery below.
