
Wyoming Well-Represented At PGA High School Golf Boys’ National Invitational in North Carolina
It’s the boys’ turn. The 2025 PGA Boys' High School Golf National Invitational starts on Sunday, July 20, and goes through Tuesday, July 22, at the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in North Carolina. The field of golfers is playing 54 holes on Pinehurst’s No. 5, No. 6, and No. 8 courses. Two teams and 11 total players from Wyoming will be in this feature event.
2024 Class 3A state champion Wheatland has five players in the field. Isaac CdeBaca, Jacob Miller, Dylan Nelson, Tate Nichols, and Brecken Sandlian will represent the Bulldogs. 2024 Class 4A state champion Campbell County also has five players in this year’s field. Jaxon Burr, Jackson Evans, Drew Gemar, Jackson Laakso, and Cade Peterson will tee it up for the Camels.
The final player from Wyoming, who is participating as an individual, is Evanston’s Ryker Lind, who was the Class 4A individual state champion in 2024.
Former Wyoming great Parker Paxton has the best finish in recent years. He tied for seventh place at 2-under par in 2022.
Tazlyn Wagner from Kemmerer and Jordyn Horsley of Star Valley participated in the girls’ portion of the event earlier in the week. Wagner finished in 31st place at 8-over par, and Horsley tied for 131st place at 41-over par.

The next summer event on the golf calendar will be the Girls’ Junior Americas Cup at Kierland Golf Course in Phoenix, AZ, July 22-24, 2025. The Boys’ Junior Americas Cup is at Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Portland, OR, July 29-31, 2025.
The 2025 Wyoming High School golf season starts with practice on Aug. 11. The first competition day is Aug. 13. The 2025 state championships will be on Sept. 19-20, 2025.
