The Green River Knights took advantage of their home field and have qualified for the Single-A American Legion Baseball State Tournament.

Green River is hosting the Class A West District Tournament. After getting knocked off on Monday night by Lovell, 15-8, the Knights faced elimination on Tuesday. Green River responded with an impressive 14-4 win over conference foe Riverton. That gave the Knights a berth in next week's state tournament in Cody.

WyoPreps recently caught up with Green River manager Ben Lail, before the District Tournament, to talk about his team and how things are going entering the postseason. Lail said the mix of veterans and youth had led to a bit of an up and down season, but their focus was playing their best baseball now. He's had some good leadership but believes it takes everyone to accomplish what they want.
