Green River Prevails at Home 33-17 Over Jackson
Green River has been hard-pressed to string some wins together but they came up with their best effort of the season as they downed Jackson on Friday 33-17. It was an eventful opening quarter as Green River scored the first two touchdowns of the game. Hunter Finley started the scoring on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Caleb Lake and the Wolves tacked on another TD as Bracken Miller found the end zone. Jackson answered with an Owen Janssen touchdown run but the Broncs trailed 14-7 at the halftime intermission.
Green River bumped the lead to 14 thanks to a Jackson Mitchell TD run and the Wolves really took over in the 4th quarter as Miller scored again and Conner Todd notched a touchdown. Green River's defense allowed Jackson a 4th quarter field goal and a touchdown catch from Kaleb Lunde but the Broncs fell short 33-17.
The Wolves are 2-5 on the year and broke a 3-game losing streak and have a big game this week at Star valley. Jackson has lost 3 of 4 with an overtime win over Evanston during that time period. The Broncs will be on the road this week in Powell.
