Kelly Walsh received 11 of the 14 first-place votes. The Trojans remain No. 1 for the third consecutive week.

Thunder Basin closed the margin in the balloting. The Bolts earned three first-place votes and are only 15 points back of KW. Campbell County holds onto No. 3, but by only six points over Cheyenne East. The Thunderbirds are alone in fourth in the new poll.

Natrona County’s win last weekend at Cody has lifted NC into the No. 5 position. The Fillies had received votes only one other time in this season’s polling. Cody falls out of the top five for the first time this year. They are one of three other teams that received votes this week.

KW and NC just concluded their regular season on Tuesday. On Friday, No. 3 Campbell County is at No. 2 Thunder Basin in the only ranked match-up this weekend.

The final softball rankings will be released next week ahead of the inaugural state tournament, May 20-22, 2021, in Gillette.
