Kemmerer Wrestling Squad Looking to Repeat as 2A State Champs

The Kemmerer Rangers are the reigning 2A state champions in wrestling and have more than enough talent to win the state title again. The Rangers return 3 state champs, Roany Proffit, Karl Haslem, and Riggen Walker, plus two guys that took 2nd at state in 2022, Gabe Emery as well as Landon Heaps. In last week's Lander tournament, Kemmerer placed first with 208.5 points with Proffit taking first at 126 pounds, Emery at 145, Walker at 152, and Heaps at 182 pounds. It was an impressive display that will make the Rangers the 2A favorite at next month's state tourney.

We had a chance to chat with Proffit and Walker about their semi-final round matches at the Lander tournament as well as a look at the season as a whole.
