Lander’s Dillan Hereford is Going to Presentation College for Basketball
Lander Valley’s Dillan Hereford has decided to further his basketball career by playing at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD.
Hereford recently signed with the Saints’ program.
Dillan was a three-year letterman for the Tigers. He was a Class 3A all-state and all-conference selection after the 2020-21 season. Hereford averaged 13.3 points per game during his senior season. He also added 4.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Hereford shot 52 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range.
He helped Lander Valley to a 16-7 overall record. The Tigers were 3-3 in the 3A Northwest Quadrant. Lander placed third at the 3A West Regional tournament and went 1-2 at the 3A state tournament. The Tigers lost to eventual 3A champion Worland in the semifinals, 64-54.
As a junior, Hereford helped Lander to a 21-4 overall record and a 5-1 record in quadrant play. The Tigers placed second at the 3A West Regional tournament and qualified for the state tournament in the 2019-20 season. Lander was the only team to hand Worland a loss during the regular season that year. Hereford averaged 4.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in the 19-20 season. He shot 43 percent from the field and 20 percent beyond the arc as a junior.
Hereford also played football and ran cross country during his prep career with the Tigers.
The Presentation College Saints compete in the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) conference at the NAIA level of collegiate athletics. The Saints had just a 4-23 overall record last season.
