A hearty congratulations to all of the Team WY high school kids that qualified and gave everything they had at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs.

The competition wrapped up Saturday night with the girls finishing fifth in the nation and the boys ninth. Their combined team points placed Wyoming seventh in the U.S.

Yoder's Haiden Thompson earned #1 all-around rookie girls honors. Ellie Bard from Sheridan finished 8th in the all-around girl's category with great showings in barrels and breakaway roping. Clearmont's Brooke Worman placed third in the nation tying goats.

In the boy's competition, Big Piney's Arye Espenscheid and Kolby Bradley are reserve national champion team ropers. They got the job done in a sizzling 7.02 seconds Saturday night. Blake Afdahl from Torrington and Buffalo's Clay Reiner finished #8. Steer wrestler Kaden Berger from Gillette threw down for eighth in the nation as well.
