Laramie’s Neil Summers Commits to UW for Basketball
Neil Summers of Laramie won't be going very far to continue his basketball career as he has committed to the University of Wyoming. Summers has led his Plainsmen team to the 4A State Championship game for the last 2 seasons. In the 2023-24 campaign, he averaged 17.4 points a game which was 5th in 4A, and 11 rebounds per contest, which led 4A. Summer's shot 63% from the field and had a 31-point game vs. Sheridan and a 15-rebound game vs. Greeley West. Laramie went 22-4 this past season.
In his sophomore season, the 6-9 pivot averaged 12.9 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game. He shot 49% from the floor as the Plainsmen were 15-14 but made a nice run through the 4A State Tournament. He's been an All-State selection in 4A for the last 2 years and is very tough to handle in the post. Summers also has extensive club and camp experience, which will benefit his senior season and beyond.
