Big Horn and Lyman met in the 2A football semi-finals a year ago with Big Horn winning 7-0. The two teams met again in the final four over the weekend and the point total was a lot higher but the end result was the same as Big Horn posted a home win over Lyman 34-14

Each team found the end zone in the first quarter as Lyman's Sam Gregory ran it in from 8 yards out. The extra point was missed and the Eagles led 6-0. Big Horn responded with a 1-yard TD plunge from Avon Barney to give the Rams a 7-6 advantage.

In the 2nd quarter, Big Horn gained some momentum with an 18-yard run for a score from Barney and a 13-yard TD catch from Kolby Butler. At the halftime intermission, the Rams were ahead 21-6

Big Horn's defense turned in a huge play in the 3rd quarter as Drew Heerman returned an interception 97 yards for a touchdown. That was a monumental effort to give the Rams a 28-16. In the 4th quarter, the super-fast Cruz Hernandez zoomed 80 yards to the house and that pretty much closed the door as the Rams led 35-6. Lyman added a 4th quarter touchdown from Gregory but the Eagles concluded the season with a record of 8-3.

Big Horn is 9-1 and will be looking to repeat as 2A champions when they take on Torrington at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie on Friday at noon. Take a look at some all-star photos of the BH-Lyman game, courtesy of Susan Bullard. Those images can be located in our gallery below.
