The Cheyenne East and Wheatland girls' softball teams met in a doubleheader on a beautiful afternoon back on Friday. East had the upper hand in this twin bill, winning the opener 14-2 and the nightcap 9-1. In that first game, Gracie Oswald and Trista Strehwein homered in that game for East who head into Tuesday's doubleheader with Cheyenne South with a record of 4-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Wheatland is currently 3-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

Weather permitting, it's going to be a busy week for these two teams. Wheatland will host Cheyenne South on Thursday and will be on the road in Laramie on Friday.

East will have a road trip to Gillette with a doubleheader against defending state champion Thunder Basin on Friday and then a twin-bill with Campbell County on Saturday.

We have a few pics to share from that East-Wheatland match-up on Friday and they can be found in our gallery below. Enjoy!
