Two old volleyball rivals from the southwest of the state met at the Ford Center in Casper on Saturday with a 1A Volleyball state championship on the line. Cokeville has been in this position numerous times in its history and Little Snake River was looking for their first state title since 2016.

Cokeville had to earn everything they got in this match and each set was very competitive. The Panthers defeated LSR in 3 straight 25-21, 25-20, and 26-14 to win an unprecedented 26th state championship in volleyball. Cokeville won 4 straight titles from 2017-2020. These two teams met in the 1A West Regional final in Riverton and Cokeville won that match, but needed 5 sets to do so. The Panthers were a senior-heavy team and finished the season with a record of 27-11.

Little Snake River had an outstanding year at 29-4 and the Rattlers had just 3 seniors on their roster in 2023. We have some photos to share with you of this championship match on Saturday in our gallery below and a video of the proceedings as well. Enjoy!
