Pinedale Hosts the 2022 Wyoming High School Nordic Skiing State Championships
The 2022 Wyoming High School Nordic Skiing State Championships are Friday and Saturday at Pinedale.
The White Pines Ski Area’s Nordic Center will serve as the venue.
The defending champion in both disciplines returns on the women's side. Kate Brigham of Jackson is vying for a third straight freestyle state title and to repeat in the classic race.
On the men's side, last year's winner of both races was a senior, so there will be a new state champ in both races.
WOMEN:
Teams Participating = Cody/Sheridan, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Natrona County, Pinedale
Defending Champ = Jackson (seeking 11th consecutive title & 17th in school history)
Defending Event Champs = Kate Brigham, Jackson – Freestyle and Classic
Schedule:
Friday: 5km Freestyle or Skate, 10 a.m.
Saturday: 10km Classic, 10:30 a.m. (or 15 minutes after the last boy has started)
MEN:
Teams Participating = Cody/Sheridan, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Natrona County, Pinedale
Defending Champ = Jackson (seeking a 4th straight title, 21st in school history)
Defending Event Champs = none; both Freestyle and Classic will have a new champion this year
Schedule:
Friday: 5km Freestyle or Skate, 10:30 a.m. (or 15 minutes after the last girl has started)
Saturday: 10km Classic, 10 a.m.
FRIDAY FREESTYLE/SKATE RACE RESULTS:
Jackson's Kate Brigham and Mason Wheeler win the 5km freestyle race on Friday.
