Powell Legion Baseball Update

The Powell Pioneers have accumulated 28 wins so far this season and that's tied for the most in the Legion baseball "A" ranks in Wyoming. This team has some guys that can hit as Trey Stenerson is a power hitter with Cade Queen and Jhett Schwann contributing as well.

The Pioneers took 2 of out 3 in the Douglas Tournament over the weekend, starting out with a 13-1 win over Wheatland on Saturday morning. Cade Queen hit for the cycle and drove in 3 runs. Stenerson had a towering home run in that game. Later on that day, Powell defeated Torrington 8-2 and then lost on Sunday to Riverton 7-6 in a very competitive game.

With the district tournaments coming up, the Pioneers figure they have as good as a chance as anybody so there's no shortage of confidence. We talked with Stenerson and Queen after their win over Wheatland on Saturday. Plus, we have a group of photos from that game in our gallery below. Enjoy!
