The Powell Pioneers have been playing well down the stretch of the 2022 American Legion Baseball season.

Powell won a pair of conference games at Cody to end the regular season. The Pioneers have followed that with two 10-run, mercy-rule wins at the Single-A West District Tournament in Green River. They are playing in the title game against Cody on Wednesday.

WyoPreps had a chance to visit with manager Jason Borders recently about his team. This was before they swept Cody and started play in the District Tournament. Borders expressed his satisfaction with how well his young squad has played, even overcoming some injuries. Borders was looking for a confidence boost with a victory over Cody, and he got one with the sweep on July 12.
