Rawlins Boys’ Basketball is Contending in 3A Basketball [VIDEO]
The Rawlins High School boys’ basketball team is enjoying a good 2022 season with a veteran squad.
Rawlins is off to an 8-1 start and looks to be a factor in the 3A boys’ race.
The Outlaws are averaging 60 points per game and outscoring their opponents by nearly 16 points per game as they enter conference play this weekend. They’re also forcing over 23 turnovers per game by their opponents.
Seniors Ashton Barto and Eli Kern lead the charge for Rawlins. Barto is averaging 18 points per game and Kern is adding 15.6 per contest.
WyoPreps talked with the two seniors earlier in the non-conference portion of the season to get their perspective on their team, what head coach Denver Allard has them working on, what 3A boys’ basketball is like this season, some fun items about road trips, where they like playing besides at home, and more. That’s in the video at the top of this story.
The Outlaws’ only loss this season is at 4A Green River, 50-37. They have wins over Pinedale (2), Lovell, Powell, Big Piney, Lyman, 4A Laramie, and Mountain View.
Rawlins start conference action versus Burns and at Wheatland this weekend.
