Experience payed off for the defending 3A boys champs.

Thanks to a 35-23 advantage in rebounds, and a 7-0 advantage in bench scoring, Riverton was able to hold off a 4th quarter charge by Newcastle, and win 57-54 in the first round of the 3A boys basketball state tournament.

Treyton Paxton was the leading scorer for the Wolverines with 14 points.

Soloman VanDellen added in 13, and Jaren Draper put in 10.

Four of the 5 Dogie starters scored in double figures, but as mentioned, the bench didn't contribute.

Cade Ostenson scored 17 points.

He was followed by Cameron Quigley (13), Dylon Tidyman (12), and Jake Lacy (10).
