Riverton’s Dillon Lange Chooses Baseball at Dickinson State
Dillon Lange of Riverton High School and the Riverton Raiders has decided to further his baseball career in college with Dickinson State in North Dakota.
Lange was a Second Team All-State and First Team All-Conference performer for the Raiders in 2019. He also received Second Team All-Conference honors in 2018.
Dillon was 7-4 on the pitching mound last season with a 1.70 Earned Run Average. In 15 appearances, which included nine starts, Lange threw 61.2 innings. He had 77 strikeouts and issued only 22 walks. Dillon’s strike percentage for pitches thrown was 64 percent.
Lange added 26 total hits last season including seven extra-base hits. He hit four home runs in 2019. Dillon scored 43 runs for Riverton.
Lange helped the Raiders to a 26-24 record last year and a 31-19 mark in 2018.
Dickinson State University competes at the NAIA Division I level. The Blue Hawks are part of the North Star Athletic Association. According to reports, Dickinson State cut baseball in 2017 due to funding concerns but is scheduled to bring it back as a varsity sport in 2020-21.
