The Rock Springs Tigers scored 25 seconds into their game and rolled past Kelly Walsh, 42-21, last Friday night in the first round of the 4A football playoffs.

Rock Springs QB Brock Bider accounted for 214 yards of total offense and three TDs. He threw for 169 yards and two scores and added 45 yards rushing and one touchdown on the ground.

Cadon Shaklee had a TD catch, a TD run, and added 10 tackles, including one sack on defense. Dylan Coburn and Saben Carlson each had a TD run. The other touchdown pass went to Andrew Skorcz.

Skorcz returned the opening kickoff 57 yards, and two plays later Rock Springs was in the end zone on a Bider to Shaklee 25-yard TD pass. On their second possession, the Tigers scored when Bider ran it in from 41 yards out. Bider then connected with Skorcz on an 18-yard TD pass for a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

The second quarter saw a 13-yard TD run by Carlson, which made it 28-0. That was the score at halftime.

In the third quarter, Coburn raced 60-yards for a touchdown, and Shaklee capped Rock Springs’ scoring with a TD run. It was 42-0 at the end of the third quarter.

Kelly Walsh scored three times in the fourth quarter. A 67-yard TD pass from Gibson Sasser to Carter McLean got them on the board. Sasser found McLean and Cam Burkett for two more scores in the final frame.

Rock Springs ran for 288 yards in the victory. The Tigers improved to 9-1 on the season. They will host Cheyenne East in the semifinals on Friday at 6 p.m.

Kelly Walsh finished their season with a record of 3-7.
