On Saturday afternoon in Cheyenne, there was an intriguing boys game as Rock Springs from the 4A ranks took on Pine Bluffs who finished 2nd at the 2A state tournament a year ago. At one point in the game, Rock Springs led by 20 and then Pine Bluffs started to get serious as they whittled down the lead to 2 in the final seconds. In fact, the Hornets had a chance to win the game but missed a 3 pointer as time expired. Rock Springs was led in scoring by Favor Okere with 18, Justis Reese had 13 and Jayson Caudell had 12. The Tigers went 2-1 in the Cheyenne tournament to improve to 3-8. Pine Bluffs was led by Donte Jacobsen with 16 and Brian Steger had 10. The Hornets are 5-4 on the year and beat the #1 ranked team in 3A, Lander in this tournament. Here are some highlights of that game on Saturday afternoon.
