WyoPreps 2026 Season Preview of the Rock Springs Tigers [VIDEO]

With a core of returning players and anchored by one of 4A's top all-around players, the Rock Springs Tigers want to put the 2025 season behind them and focus on a better 2026 campaign. Last fall, the Tigers finished 1-8 and missed the 4A playoffs for the first time in over a decade. WyoPreps stopped on its Preseason Football Tour to see how preparations are going before the new season commences.

WYOPREPS PREVIEWS THE 2026 ROCK SPRINGS TIGERS

Boston James was a focal point last year. He ran for 746 yards and 8 TDs as a junior. James also got the job done on defense. He finished 6th in 4A at 12 defensive points per game. The Tigers will lean on him again, but they'd like to have more weapons to count on. The next closest teammate accounted for 600 fewer all-purpose yards in 2025. Rock Springs also struggled with 21 turnovers a season ago. On the flip side, the Tigers were No. 1 in 4A in defense most of last season, so moving the ball against them was difficult.

Rock Springs returns 11 total starters from last year. That includes six on defense. They do have to replace all four starters in the secondary. WyoPreps attended a recent practice to find out more about the Tigers this fall. We spoke with James, Hezekiah Purvis, Kaleb Praytor, and head coach Kasey Koepplin to get their perspective on how training has gone ahead of the 2026 season.
