Rocky Mountain Girls Basketball Starts Season 4-0
Rocky Mountain's girl's basketball team has been very successful for the last few years with 7 straight trips to the 2A State Tournament. That included a state championship in 2022 and a 2nd place finish in 2021.
This year, the Grizzlies started the season with 4 wins in the Coal Miner's Classic Tournament, beating Kaycee 53-14, Wright 38-21, Lusk 55-39, and Glenrock 49-44. They have one returning all-state player in Makelle Moss who averaged 9 points and 4 rebounds per game. Lauren Bassett is also a key returning player who shot 52% from the floor last season. But Rocky does have to replace one other all-state and 3 all-conference selections.
It's been so far so good for the Grizz and we chatted with Moss and Bassett after their win over Kaycee in Wright on Friday.
