Rocky Mountain was the 1A 9-Man runner-up in 2021 and they have the talent to get that far again and maybe win it all. The Grizzlies pounded Lingle-Fort Laramie in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs 65-19 to improve to 7-2 on the year. Rocky Mountain found the end zone three times in the first quarter with Jackson Hanusa reeling off a 65-yard run for a touchdown, which was followed by Carsyn Weber throwing a pair of TD passes, one to Brenner Moore that covered 66 yards and another 66-yarder to Kelden Boettcher.  So the Grizz led 23-0 after one.

Lingle got on the board in the 2nd half thanks to a touchdown pass from Brian McCoid to Louden Brenner that went for 6 yards to cut the lead to 23-6. But Rocky Mountain responded with three more TD passes from Weber, 16 yards to Boettcher, 41 to Ben Simmons, and 9 to Collin Haslem. At the halftime break, Rocky led 43-6.

Lingle scored again in the 3rd quarter as McCoid tossed a touchdown pass to Bremer that covered 42 yards but Rocky Mountain was too much with a pair of 3rd quarter-rushing touchdowns from Hanusa and Weber.

The Grizzlies have a long road trip to #1 Pine Bluffs on Friday for a 4 pm kick-off. Lingle Fort-Laramie finishes the season with a record of 6-3 but lost 3 out of 4 to end the season. The Doggers were making their 2nd playoff appearance since 2016.
